Scholarships are gift aid provided to students, based on academic achievement, athletic ability, talent or some circumstance. Some scholarships also factor in a student's financial need in determining eligibility, which may require the student completing a FAFSA.
The Office of Financial Aid at the University of South Florida Polytechnic offers a number of student scholarships to its students. These scholarships range from $250 to $1000 and are awarded on a competitive basis to the most commendable applicants. Meeting the minimum qualifications for a particular scholarship does not guarantee receiving a scholarship.
Scholarship applicants must be a degree-seeking USF Polytechnic student in good standing with the University, and hold a minimum 3.0 grade point average overall, unless otherwise stated by individual scholarship requirements. The applicant must also be enrolled in a minimum of six hours as an undergraduate or five hours as a graduate student. All hourly requirements must be met on the University of South Florida Polytechnic campus.
NOTE: Some scholarships, however, require full-time enrollment based on need and require applying for the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). They are provided to USF Polytechnic students via generous gifts made to the campus by firms, organizations and private donors, as well as through fund-raising efforts.
