"I’m devoted to my students and to bringing the real world to the classroom."

About Me

How many years did you work in the field in which you teach?
20+ years

If I weren't a professor, I would be...
Lead marketing strategy for an organization that benefits society, bent on enlightened marketing and sustainability...or a rock star.

My favorite thing on this campus is...
LTB 2155, the ultimate classroom for interactive instruction.

What I like most about the students at USF Polytechnic is...
They're impatient to learn about business (or for me to hurry and make my point). Many are inspirations in class and open up a lecture topic like no other. They can liven up any discussion whether intellectual or mundane, illustrating their points by outrageous examples of their own revealing consumer behavior.

My Profile

"I'm devoted to my students learning and to bringing the real world to the classroom," says Carole Osborne, an instructor for the division of business. In doing so, she draws from her extensive career experience in marketing and advertising, which includes serving as vice president of marketing for Cox Target Media, a subsidiary of Cox Enterprises, the nation's eighth largest media company.

Carol believes in the polytechnic vision and favors individual and group projects that let students apply what they learn. She focuses on applied marketing strategy and tactics, branding, advertising, promotions, and consumer behavior. Classroom instruction and student assignment include emphasis on media advertising, public relations, marketing communications, promotional partnerships, database marketing, affinity programs and cause marketing.

Carol is currently consulting for a Tampa network TV affiliate, a magazine publisher, and a consumer frozen and refridgerated foods association. She serves as advisor to the USF Polytechnic colony of Delta Sigma Pi, a national business fraternity.
