Interlibrary loan allows authorized USF users to also have access to the circulating collections of all other USF libraries or outside the USF system. Before making an ILL request, please verify in the catalog that your article is not already available electronically or that your book is not located at the USF Polytechnic Library.
Books
Pick up the Book ILL form at the front desk or fill the form online.
Journal articles
Use ILLIad, an automated ILL management system, to request and receive electronically the journal articles you need. You can request with ILLiad articles from journals housed in the other USF Libraries - Tampa's main library, St. Petersburg, Sarasota/New College, FMHI and Health Sciences Libraries - or from journals not owned by any of the USF Libraries.
Important: when creating your Illiad account, Polytechnic students, faculty and staff must select "Lakeland" in the "Your Status" field. Distance learners should choose "Distance Learner".
A/V material
USF Polytechnic faculty can request audio-visual material (DVDs or VHS) from the USF Library system, for classroom presentation. This service is not available to students.
Submitting a form
Some of our online forms are created in PDF format. You may be asked to indicate which email option you want to use to send the form. Depending on what email option you use, an extra step may be necessary. Please take a look at the instructions below.
Desktop email application: choose this option if you currently use an email application such as Microsoft Outlook Express, Microsoft Outlook, Eudora, or Mail. The data will be attached to an email automatically created by your application; just send the email as is.
Internet Mail: choose this option if you currently use a web-based email service such as Yahoo, Microsoft Hotmail or Gmail. You will need to save your form and return it manually to library@poly.usf.edu by attaching it to an email you will create using your web-based email service.
