Educational leadership focuses on the development, implementation, and generation of outcomes in the organization and management of K-12 education. At USF Polytechnic, the master's in education for educational leadership is designed to provide educational leaders, policy makers, and researchers the skills needed to design and implement strategies that improve practice and outcomes in educational organizations.
This program is designed to provide the theoretical and conceptual knowledge base required for principalship and for Florida Educational Leadership certification. Courses required in the program address the Florida Principal Leadership Standards specified by the Florida Department of Education and prepare students to take and pass the Florida Educational Leadership Examination (FELE) prior to graduating from the program. Educational Leadership certification is subject to Florida Department of Education approval. An M.Ed. in educational leadership or its equivalent, three years of teaching experience and successful completion of the Florida Educational Leadership Examination (FELE) are required by the State of Florida for certification in Educational Leadership.
