Advising Tips

Psychology, BA

  • Continuation in the major requires successfully completing PSY2012, PSY 3213, and the statistics course with a grade of C or better (not C-) and having a grade point average for those three courses of 2.5 or higher.
  • Majors must complete at least 34 semester hours in the field.
  • A minimum grade of C- or better must be attained in each course in the major, except for PSY 3204 (or other qualifying statistics course) and PSY 3213, where a C or better is required. Although a C- is allowable for individual courses, a major GPA of 2.0 minimum is required for graduation (referenced in USF's 2007/2008 Undergraduate Catalog, p. 110).
  • To avoid long waits, it is best to make an appointment with your advisor. However, no appointments can be made during a two-week period each semester: the week before classes begin and the first week of classes are always reserved for walk-ins only.
