Applied Science, BSAS - Information Technology
After several years of employment, many AS graduates seek additional career opportunities but find most employers require advanced degrees for management and supervisory positions. This program provides opportunities for advancement in your current career or to qualify for higher-level employment in other settings.
Students of the BSAS-IT program have a unique opportunity to individualize their program to define their future work environment, an opportunity that exists in few other career fields. Graduates work in a variety of areas including applications architecture and development, website design and support, network planning and configuration, information security, database design and administration, gaming, military or homeland security operations, system administration or a host of other specialties, many of which have not yet been invented. They will work with other IT professionals, as well as a host of different users of their systems, from the line worker to the CEO. Career advancement will be endless and the IT field will be filled with constant change.
