Applied Science, BSAS - Early Childhood Development

After several years of employment, many AS graduates seek additional career opportunities but find most employers require advanced degrees for management and supervisory positions. This program provides opportunities for advancement in the student's current career or to qualify for higher-level employment in other settings.

Graduates may hold positions as a nursery school teacher in birth to third grade settings, a childcare center director and in various parks and recreation programs. They work in a variety of environments including corporations, schools, pediatric hospital units, government, childcare centers, cruise ships, and home childcare facilities. This degree program does not lead to a professional certification in Early Childhood Education.
